Turkish Proverb: "Coffee should be black as hell, strong as death, and as sweet as love." |
Thank you to all my ‘loyal readers’. I know I haven’t updated these pages in quite a long time. I hope that they have nevertheless been useful. I intend to write a new page soon about using a french press and another with general tips about cleaning your equipment (including that pesky white stuff that collects in boilers. In the meantime, happy reading and happy drinking (coffee, that is). Introduction to My Site: I know that I have been left somewhat confused by the proliferation of information on the internet about coffee. The variety of sources alone can serve as an indication of the difficulty one can have of finding authoritative information. I won't claim to be absolutely authoritative and I certainly won't claim to have unlocked all of coffee's secrets. Drinking coffee is a matter of taste and while there are some things which are nearly absolutely true about the best way to make coffee it all comes down to what you like. So go make yourself a cup and have fun reading through the information I have written here about coffee. Oh, and one more note before you get started. I have inserted commentary on my own writing at various points to indicate where I may have gone overboard in the snobbishness area. Click on statements that seem to you to be 'over the top' and you may see one of these comments. If you find a statement that requires explanation or comment (especially if it contains erroneous information) please let me know by sending me a note at keller_823[at]yahoo.com.
